Inspired by the book/movie "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", where four girls across the world stay connected with one another by passing around a pair of jeans, the Fellowship of the Traveling #GISChat Book aims to pass around one book to the international #GISChat community, a group of geospatial and mapping professionals that connect on various social media platforms.

The Founders: Greg Cocks is the champion that bought and shared the book. Kate Berg was inspired by a Twitter thread to formally set up the Fellowship.
